Gers U8 All County Blitz Darver 15th June 2022

The Geraldines travelled to Darver on a Sunny Wednesday evening to take place in the first All County Blitz of the year. Being the only club representing the parish, we fielded two teams with 23 players all getting as much game time as practicable. Our teams played against, Newtown Blues, Ardee St. Marys, Naomh Martin, Westerns and Annaminon Rovers. In all games the lads played really well and management are happy with their development.

The large numbers of parents in attendance witnessed some excellent fielding from the players. The theme for tonight was tackling, moving the ball into space, and taking your scores off left and right foot. This team is making significant progress and it is evident that the coaching they are receiving is aiding the players coming to grips with the basics of the game, and challenging those who need it.

We have another blitz this Sunday, 19th June at 11am at a venue TBC and this will give the lads an opportunity to put their skills to the test once again.
