U13 Boys Journey in U14 D3 Campaign
The Geraldines u13s began their u14 Div.3 campaign with a visit to Roche in mid March.
This was their first match on a full size pitch and a significant milestone.
The result on the night didn’t go their way, but since then, the experience of playing on the bigger stage and the competetive nature of the matches has meant the lads improved as the league went on.
The league also gave the coaches a chance to try out players in new positions.
Each match was evenly contested and the semi-final against St. Nicolas was an exciting one where the Haggardstown lads prevailed thanks to a late goal in a fantastic match that was end to end
The much younger Geraldines team played some very good fast attacking football and was a joy to watch
But It was the gers defence that won the day
Regardless of the result in the final, the lads had an enjoyable campaign. In all 28 lads played their part in the 8 league matches and every single one played their part, and will certainly learn from their experience.
The coaching staff (Donal Duggan, Ken Norton, Rosarie O’Donoghue, Tom de Lasa, Eamonn O’Muircheartaigh, Eoin Power, Vincent Baldwin) are very proud of the effort from the lads to make it to their second consecutive final.
Throw in is in the Marys in Ardee at 7pm
