The u13 boys hosted Dundalk Young Irelands on Wednesday evening.
A total of 24 Gers lads togged out for the match, which started off at 13 aside and was up to the full 15 aside by half time.
The visitors had the better of the first half, and were in front by 1:3 to 0:3 at half time in a tightly contested first period. A point by Sean Murphy was the pick of the Gers scores.
The home side had a purple patch after half time, with Roan Norton and Roan Carroll both scoring 1:1 to overturn the deficit.
Several points also followed from Joe Lynch (1), Rónán Duggan (1) and Aaron O’Donoghue (4) as the Gers opened up some daylight. A goal near the end for DYI meant that a tight finish was in store and the Gers lads held on for a deserved victory where all the lads played their part.
Comhghairdeas do na gasuraí go léir! Iarracht iontach !!
GRMA DYI for a well contested encounter.
Next match is against St Marys, De Luain seo chugainn.
