The u13 boys travelled to Tullyallen for round 2 of the u13 league to play Glen Emmets.

It was a lovely evening for football and both teams served up an absorbing match in a game of 2 halves.

The hosts had the better of the first half, with the Gers lads having their share of chances but a combination of poor shot selection and inaccurate shooting meant that a Roan Norton point was all they registered as the home side knocked over 8 points.

The second half was a different affair and aided by a slight breeze the Gers lads started the comeback with 2 points from Joe Lynch.

Sean Spaight continued with 2 more points, before Rónán Duggan found the net with a good team move.

The teams traded points, including 2 more from Sean Spaight, before Roan Norton scored a goal to bring the Gers lads into the lead.

The home time responded well and got their noses in front again before Aaron O’Donoghue scored a wonderful long range point to bring the teams level.

As the match seems to be headed for a draw, the home side scored the last point from a close range free in what turned out to be the winning point.

All the lads contributed to a solid performance.

Jacub Perkowski kept another clean sheet, helped by Danny de Lasa, James Scanlon and Daniel Hanna who were very solid in the full back line.

At half back Sean Garvey, Jack Kavanagh, and Oliver Kerley battled hard, as did Ross Nordon who replaced Jack as he went off injured in the first half.

Joe Lynch and Aaron O’Donoghue both performed well, and covered a lot of ground.

In the half forwards, Sean Murphy, Roan Norton, Roan Carroll, Hugo Nolan and Sean Spaight caused a lot of problems for the opposing defence.

In the full forward line, Oscar Little, Cillian McKevitt and Rónán Duggan were dangerous when they got on the ball.
