Friday night saw the u12 boys continue their league campaign with an away match versus Clan na Gaels.
The first half saw the Clans start strongly scoring early goals. The Gers boys strengthened as the half went on kicking a number of fine points to keep them in the game. A fine team move finished with Shane finding the net leaving the Gers going in at the break four points down.
The second half started slowly with both teams trading points. The game then came to life in the final quarter. Three points from U11s player James pulled the Gers right back into it.
The Clans hit back with a great goal straight from a free kick.
Late goals from Cormac and two from Ben saw the Gers creep ahead and hold out for the win. Their first in this campaign.
The boys put in a huge effort and continue to progress each match. Big effort on the night notably from Tim in Goals and Emmet, Simon and Dara in Defence.
Thanks to Clans for a very sporting encounter and an entertaining match on the night.
The boys are back out on Monday with an away match in the U13 Division versus Baile Talun at 6.45.
