The u13 boys had their opening match of the u13 league campaign against a strong Naomh Martin side on Monday evening.

The visitors started strongly and had the best of initial exchanges and raced into an early lead. The Gers lads countered well with Roan Carroll & Roan Norton responding with well taken scores before the visitors scored again to come into half time with an eight point advantage.

The second half was a tight affair with some exciting end to end football by both sides. Sean Spaight led from the front with a contribution of 1-3, while Hugo Nolan scored 1-2 in the second half on his return from injury. Alas it would not turn out to be enough as the Monasteboice outfit maintained their 8 point advantage in an exciting finish.

Special mention to Conal Gaughran who has returned to the panel and gave a brilliant defensive display, Maith thú 💪
