The Geraldines Ladies Junior 2 team opened up their Sunday League programme with an emphatic win over the Dundalk Young Irelanders on Sunday morning. The match provided an opportunity for the younger members of the Gers ladies to show their quality and remind management that there is serious depth to the squad.

Right throughout the girls showed great determination getting out in front and winning ball all over the pitch. At times the passing through the hands out of defence was sublime, as was the early ball into the forward line. This allowed the forwards to fill their boots.

In saying that, the scoring was slow early on. In fact, if it was a crossbar challenge we would have walked away with the trophy. 😜😜😜. However the girls kept plugging away and racked up a number of beautiful scores over the course of the game.

A huge congratulations to all the u-16s that made their debut with the seniors.

The girls now look forward to their second match against the Gaels next Sunday.
