The u13 lads had their first league outing against Roche Emmets on Monday evening. This was their first match on a full size pitch and despite the big step up for this significant milestone, the acquitted themselves well in an entertaining match on a cool but fine March evening.
The home side had a better start and registered the first few scores as the Gers lads settled into the game. They rallied strongly in the second quarter with some nicely taken points to close the gap to points coming into half time, and if they had taken some more of the chance created could have had been in front at this stage.
The second half was also evenly contested with some fine scores taking at both ends. A goal for Roche at the death opened up a wider gap which added a gloss to the score line. The lads will certainly learn from their experience and it was encouraging to see them compete against a strong Roche side.
GRMA @RocheEmmets for hosting.
