Division 1 League

Naomh Fionnbarra 0-9 Geraldines 1-4

Our U14 Boys travelled to Annagassan on Saturday evening for their first u14 league game and were involved in a titanic struggle in very bad weather conditions against last years League Division 1 runners up.

Playing with the wind in the first half the Gers boys dominated the first 15 mins, displaying great work ethic and teamwork but were just wasteful in their shooting at times. Still there was some fine scores taken giving us a 1-3 to 0-4 at half time. However this left the Gers lads with a lot to do against what was now a strong wind but the boys dug in and give a great defensive display constantly over turning the ball and thwarting Finbarrs attacks. Eventually the pressure told when Finbarrs drew level but Gers showed good resilience to go back in front with a fine score. Unfortunately in last ten minutes Finbarrs tagged on 3 points as playing conditions deteriorated for the score to finish 0-9 to 1-4 in their favour.

Every player displayed great effort on a cold and wet night for football. Training continues on Tuesday and we have St. Fechins at home next Saturday in Round 2. Good luck lads 👍
