A Chairde, Following the recent statements by the Government and subsequent statements by both the GAA and LGFA County Boards, we feel that it is appropriate that we as a club should also cease all activities for the remainder of 2020.

I would like to thank you all for your time, contribution and commitment during this most peculiar of seasons. The efforts and time given by many of you, gave children and adults alike something to look forward to each week albeit for a shortened season.

Most age groups managed to fit a lot of games in, both competitive and challenges, and you are all to be commended for this. We had successes and silverware so a very well done to you. The club always did its utmost to accommodate and cater for everyone while trying to maintain your safety.

I would like to particularly thank those who volunteered their time behind the scenes, gave up their time for various tasks, and those for taking on the roles of Covid officers within each group; without your assistance there would not have been any football this year.

I'm sure many of you are aware of the upgrades within the Geraldines grounds, these are available for all our community to enjoy. However the upkeep of our facilities costs rise annually and 2020 has been a particularly difficult year to raise additional badly needed funds. I am sincerely grateful to those who support our club in any financial way and I would like to take this opportunity in my closing speech, to ask you to participate in our Weekly Lotto if at all possible. This is a relatively small financial commitment with all monies raised going straight back into the running and upkeep of our Club. Thank you to all of our committee members, all players both senior and juvenile, coaches and mentors, parents and friends of the club. I urge you all to stay safe and well. Hopefully we will be back in action early in 2021.
