Geraldines 1-12 vs Roche Emmets 1-08

Venue: Dundalk Gaels, Ramparts.

Geraldines Ladies quest to retain the Senior Championship took once step further as Paula Lavin's side overcame their Semi-Final against Roche Emmets at the Ramparts. Rebecca Carr clocked up an impressive one goal and eight points in a game that saw a late Roche rally.

The Geraldines got off to the most perfect start with Rebecca Carr breaking through the midfield and despite the closing angle took her effort well and the ball nestled into the far right hand of the net to give the ladies the opening score and goal. Emma Gartlan and Lauren McFaul added further to the points tally before a brace of points from Rebecca Carr from free-scoring positions. Emma Gartlan added her second point of the game despite being under pressure she did excellently to evade the attentions of her marker to slot the ball over. Rebecca Carr added two more points before the water break before adding another post-break.

There were two yellow cards issued in quick succession and Rebecca Carr was sin-binned either side of the half for ten minutes. The Geraldines went into half time with a commanding 1-08 to 0-01 lead.

Lauren McFaul took over the free-taking duties and made no mistake to open the scoring before the second half. She added another as Roche got their first score of the second half. Roche added another point before Rebecca Carr came back into the game and clocked another point for the Geraldines with a free-kick. Roche was awarded a penalty in which Amy Dalton got injured in the build-up to the decision and it was converted then Roche boosted by the goal scored two more unanswered points before Rebecca Carr latched onto a clever pass to score the Geraldines last point of the game.

Roche Emmets scored two more points but the Geraldines have the numerical advantage and advance to the Final next week where they will face St. Brides who overcame St. Mochtas in the other Semi-Final.
