The Geraldines senior ladies v St Kevin's finished all square in Philipstown tonight. With the ball thrown in at 20.53pm, it was the Kevin's who took the early lead of 1.2 to no score in the first 10 minutes.  The Geraldines ladies showed great determination and resilience to respond well over the next 20 minutes of play. Two quick points from play from Louise Corcoran settled the side, and with Clodagh Corcoran putting three points over the bar saw just one point between them now. Another great point from Clodagh, and Meadhb Fee, and a well taken free from Fionnuala Cafferty saw the Gers take the lead at half time by one point. The second half started with more pace with both sides playing competitive football. A goal from Kevin's put 2 between the teams but Cafferty went the far end to place a classy goal in the left hand side of the net. Gers were now ahead by a point leading into the last 5 minutes,  however the Kevin's secured a late point to equalise.  The pace, tackles, work rate and brilliant movement from the Gers was very impressive.  Sarah Morgan played her part well, with Rebecca Carr leading by example and Ava Sheelan doing her job very well in defence. A draw was probably a fair outcome in a decent game of football and at 11 minutes past 10 on a Friday night of a bank holiday weekend, you'll take it. Goodnight !!!!
