Geraldines 2-10 Cooley Kickhams 4-2
Our minor girls tonight qualified for the division 1 league final thereby giving themselves the chance to take the first trophy of 2025. They will play St Patrick’s in the final giving themselves the chance to take revenge for a cruel semifinal defeat after extra time last year.
On a day when the drama never stopped, it was the girls in green and white who rose above the chaos, in a game that saw three penalties, two yellow cards and a rollercoaster of emotions. Geraldines won out by two points in the end and are now through to the Minor A league final v St Pat's on Easter Sunday.
With Cooley taking the lead after the half time break our girls needed to step it up and pull together as a team. The second half brought more intensity in a game that was filled with tackles, turning points and goals !!! but our girls dug deep and delivered a performance packed with heart, grit and pure determination where they thankfully walked away deserving winners in front of a great crowd at their home pitch.
It finished 2.10 to 4.2 in a game that always brings great entertainment and drama between the old rivalries of Cooley.
We wish them all the very best in their final and as a club we are immensely proud of what they have achieved. The team was
